Fraser Coast Family Escape

On arrival into Brisbane collect your rental car and make your way into the city.  Depart Brisbane and head north up through the Sunshine Coast. You’ll travel passed the Glass House Mountains, Beerwah, home to Australian Zoo and Eumundi. It’s easily divert into Caloundra or Noosa for a lunch stop by the beach. Once you arrival into Hervey Bay check into your accommodation and relax.  

Today is yours to enjoy at leisure. You might choose to visit Reefworld, home to a vibrant array of marine life including green sea turtles, reef sharks, tropical fish, and more. Alternatively, venture inland to the charming town of Maryborough, where the whole family can experience the magic of Mary Poppins—snap a selfie with the iconic statue and spend the day exploring the Story Bank, a captivating museum housed in the former birthplace of author P.L. Travers

Experience the unique and untouched remote west coast of K'gari (formerly Fraser Island) and enjoy up close and personal encounters with majestic Humpback whales. You will discover the hidden and remote parts of K'gari whilst marvelling at the acrobatics of the whales in a comfortable and relaxing way. Indulge in a buffet lunch and explore the island while bush walking, snorkelling, kayaking and swimming. Today is at leisure. The calm, crystal-clear waters of Hervey Bay make it an ideal spot to learn watersports. Whether it’s kite surfing, paddle boarding, or kayaking, these popular local activities offer a fun way to experience the bay like a true local. Prefer to take it easy? Head to one of the many tranquil beaches stretching from Scarness to Torquay and all the way to Urangan. With no surf to worry about, it’s the perfect setting for a relaxing swim.

Your last day in the Fraser Coast region, your holiday has come to an end.  Check out of your accommodation and drive back to Brisbane Airport to drop your rental car before boarding your flight home. 

The Lady Elliot Island Great Barrier Reef all-inclusive Day Trip is the only one of its type in Australia. You will be fitted out with snorkel equipment before joining a glass bottom boat/guided snorkel tour to explore the reef where you will come face to face with a large variety of coral and brilliantly coloured fish, and may even encounter turtles, dolphins and our resident manta rays. A buffet lunch is served in the restaurant and you can participate in one of the island’s guided activities after lunch or spend the rest of the afternoon snorkeling or relaxing.
